New venue at Tanglewood Resort and Conference Center marks popular adventure attraction’s first step toward national expansion and celebrates new equipment sponsorship with Komatsu
HASTINGS, Minn. (April 5, 2016) – Extreme Sandbox, a top-rated heavy equipment adventure attraction, and Tanglewood Resort and Conference Center, invite the public to join them for a special Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting event on Thursday, April 14, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., celebrating the opening of Extreme Sandbox–Texas (80958 N. State Hwy 289) at the popular resort in Pottsboro, Texas.
Attendees won’t want to miss the opportunity to see a 20-ton excavator perform the official ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m. and a car crush event finale—a popular Extreme Sandbox activity option using an excavator to lift, drop and crush a car—at 6:30 p.m.
Additional event highlights include:
- Komatsu equipment on display with demonstrations by Extreme Sandbox staff. Komatsu America representatives will also be onsite to answer questions.
- Representatives from Texas811—the nation’s largest 811 notification center, fielding approximately 13,000 incoming calls a day—will be onsite with materials to remind people of Texas’ law to call 811 to get underground lines located before digging (call and locating service are free). The Texas811 Swag’n will also be onsite handing out refreshing snow cones.
- Site tours and refreshments will also be available
“After much planning, we’re thrilled to invite the public to our grand opening event,” said Randy Stenger, Extreme Sandbox founder/CEO. “Lake Texoma is an absolutely beautiful area and Tanglewood is a first-class resort with excellent lodging and amenities for groups and individuals. We are beyond excited to not only bring our signature high-caliber entertainment experience to our fans in the south, but to also showcase our new equipment partnership with Komatsu. Tanglewood guests will love the Komatsu equipment and our staff cannot wait to see the joy and exhilaration our guests will experience when they master these mighty machines.”
Extreme Sandbox’s new Texas venue will have three full-time and two part-time staff members and will include two excavators, two bulldozers and two wheel loaders.
“We are thrilled to bring one of Minnesota’s premier attractions to Tanglewood, providing our guests with a unique and exciting experience,” said Roger W. Thiltgen, President of Tanglewood Resort Properties Inc. “We have a strong tourism market and are very pleased to bring something different to the state of Texas.”
