The Quarry Taphouse Opens in Hastings

The Quarry Taphouse is excited to announce that they will be opening a brand new blue-collar restaurant and bar in downtown Hastings.

HASTINGS, Minn. (January 26, 2023) – After months of anticipation, The Quarry Taphouse is preparing to open its doors in one of the most recognizable spaces in downtown Hastings. The Quarry is a blue-collar focused restaurant and bar that is designed to provide customers with an unparalleled experience of quality American food and fun atmosphere the whole family can enjoy.

“We are thrilled to be bringing a new restaurant experience to downtown Hastings,” says The Quarry Taphouse co-owner Sara Stenger. “Downtown Hastings has such a rich history of unique businesses, so we are looking forward to being a part of the area.” Sara will be teaming up with her husband, Randy Stenger, as restaurant co-owners.

After some modern updates, guests will be welcomed into a fun, casual space that has been described as “Blue-collar bougie.” The menu will include a variety of tasty smash burgers, mouthwatering wings, taco favorites, and other unique dishes to satisfy any appetite. True to its name, The Quarry will also have a series of rotating taps at the bar for an assortment of local and favorite brews.
 

The indoor decor will reflect the laid-back feel of the restaurant, while keeping the unique charm of the historic Hastings building. The main level will continue as a restaurant and bar, while the upper level is available for private parties, meetings, and celebrations.

Along with the high-quality food and an inviting atmosphere, The Quarry Taphouse will feature a recreation space with activities for all ages, including a first-of-its-kind indoor stone throwing area. “Axe throwing has become such a popular form of entertainment, that we wanted to create something similar, but unique to our quarry theme,” said Randy. There will also be a real working mini digger and mini tower crane for kids to play on, along with other entertaining activities.

Sara and Randy are no strangers to the city of Hastings. Randy is the owner of Extreme Sandbox; a successful heavy equipment adventure company that has been open in Hastings for over ten years. After many years of giving people the chance to dig, drive, and play on real construction equipment, they are excited to bring their vision of “Eatertainment” to downtown Hastings. “It has always been our dream to tie a food and beverage concept into Extreme Sandbox, so we are excited to take this next step towards our larger vision,” says Randy.
