Extreme Sandbox Announces Exclusive Equipment Sponsorship with Komatsu America
CEO Randy Stenger’s recent Shark Tank appearance was catalyst for the partnership between top-rated adventure attraction and one of the world’s leading heavy equipment manufacturers
HASTINGS, Minn. (March 30, 2016) – Extreme Sandbox, a top-rated, heavy equipment adventure company, today announced an exclusive equipment sponsorship agreement with Komatsu America Corp., a leading global heavy equipment manufacturer. The alliance will introduce a growing number of markets around the country to heavy machinery as a form of entertainment and an under-explored avenue for rewarding careers.
“Our business has grown quickly and we are thrilled to announce our agreement with an equipment manufacturer that not only has a top reputation, but also is truly interested in partnering with us to support our national growth goals,” said Randy Stenger, founder and CEO of Extreme Sandbox. “Komatsu is an industry leader and we have been tremendously impressed with their state-of-the-art equipment. This sponsorship combines our proven track record of creating ‘bucket list’ experiences with Komatsu America’s world-class machines, national reach and global resources. Ultimately, it will help us with accelerated national growth by providing us with access to top-notch equipment.”
Stenger notes that the sponsorship talks were initiated after his January appearance on ABC-TV’s Shark Tank. “Komatsu leaders saw the episode and recognized the value and opportunities the Extreme Sandbox brand offered, which is a strong testament of the show’s power. This exclusive sponsorship deal with Komatsu is another big ‘game-changer’ for Extreme Sandbox that would not have happened without that national exposure. We are so thankful for this special opportunity and especially for our loyal customers and fans who have made us a success!”
“We believe the alliance with Extreme Sandbox will help transform these two-story marvels of engineering from work-zone curiosity into an informative, exciting, hands-on experience,” said Rich Smith, VP, Product and Services Division for Komatsu America Corp. “Long term, we hope these machines inspire a new generation of men and women to consider careers in the construction industry. I saw the Extreme Sandbox Shark Tank episode and thought, ‘What an incredible idea and opportunity to showcase what the equipment can do.’ Within a few weeks, we were in talks about working together and now we couldn’t be more excited about our shared goals for expansion and awareness.”
With the proven success of Extreme Sandbox’s Hastings, Minn. location—where it is a Trip Advisor top-rated attraction—the ultimate adventure site is set to open its second location April 15 in northeast Texas, an hour outside Dallas.
Extreme Sandbox plans to continue growing with additional sites around the country. Its sites offer recreational packages, specially-designed group team-building activities, “heavy equipment camp” vocational sessions where high school and community college students can learn about careers in heavy equipment operation and maintenance, and more. Komatsu America will use the sites to host demonstrations and events for its local distributors. In addition, Extreme Sandbox will collaborate with those distributors to embark on periodic road tours that bring the message of thrilling experiences and rewarding careers to local communities via tailgating events, state fairs, festivals, parades, etc.
